My name is Don Elias, and I’ve been working for the District as the District Secretary or General Manager since 2000. I have happily lived in Christian Valley with my wife and two children for over twenty years. My father-in-law, Dennis Keller, informed me of the open position as soon as I moved into the district. Along with working for the District part-time, I have been working as a 3rd grade teacher for Colfax Elementary for about 25 years.

I grew up in Los Altos, California and attended Los Altos High School and then attended CSU Chico double-majoring in Business and Economics and graduated in 1988. I had various positions in the business world, but I found that I was happiest when I was helping and mentoring children. After much thought, I then attended National University and obtained my teaching credential. My two jobs are perfect for me – I get to help children learn, while also using my business training for my job with the district. I always enjoy welcoming newcomers to Christian Valley and explaining why it is perfect for people from all walks of life, from young couples starting a family, to older adults looking for a peaceful place to retire.

In my spare time, I enjoy mountain bike riding, going for walks with my dogs, and spending time with my family.

If you are outside when I come around reading the meters each quarter, please say “Hi.” We probably have talked on the phone before and I’d like to meet you in person someday.
